Benjamin N. Diller, DDS
I’ve been in Fernandina Beach now since 2015 and I can hardly believe how quickly the time has passed. I guess it’s true what they say, time really does fly when you’re having fun. I get to share my days with the wonderful people of Amelia Island, people that are more than just patients-they’ve become friends. Best yet, I get to spend my days doing something I love- caring for and creating beautiful smiles.
I know that many people dread a visit to the dentist, but myself, I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed it. My dentist growing up was a great role model and she inspired me at a young age to pursue a career in the dental field. It’s been one of my goals since that time to ensure that my patients have as pleasurable an experience at the dental office as I did.
I’m so proud of the team that I have around me because they have truly helped to facilitate that goal. Patients frequently share with me that a visit to our office is more like a visit to a friend or family member’s home. What a kind compliment to receive, and it lets me know that my team is going the extra mile to care for our patients.
Not only do I have a passion for dentistry, but from a young age, I’ve had an entrepreneurial spirit. I grew up in a small town in rural Ohio, where my “first job” was helping out on my uncle’s farm. By middle school I had started my own lawn mowing business. It began by walking my push mower over to a few neighbors houses, and ended up ten years later with commercial mowing equipment, one employee, and over sixty accounts before I ended my lawn mowing career for dental school.
I attended the Ohio State University School of Dentistry and practiced dentistry for three and a half years in Toledo, Ohio before moving to Fernandina Beach. Warm weather and family moving south brought my wife, Ashley, and I to Florida and we couldn’t be happier to be here. I am very grateful to Dr. Johnson for sharing the wonderful practice he built here on the island with me. He practiced on our corner of 14th and Lime for over 30 years before he passed the baton on to me.
Since moving to Amelia Island, my wife, Ashley, and I have been blessed to start our family. We are the proud parents of two boys, Jacob and Joshua. While trying to keep up with my two little ones, you may find me hanging out on the beach or cheering on my favorite teams. From college football to basketball, volleyball to golf, I’m definitely a sports enthusiast. I enjoy exploring our beautiful island and checking out the many great local restaurants here. I’m also learning the art of fishing, so if you happen to pass me on the beach, I’m open to any words of wisdom!
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this vibrant “hometown” community. It has been an absolute pleasure thus far, and I am sure it will be for years to come.
Dr. Diller is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the NorthEast District Dental Association. He prioritizes providing state of the art care to his patients, so he pursues continuing education every year in a variety of topics in dentistry, including participating in the esteemed Dawson Academy and Spear study clubs. He also volunteers for the Northeast Florida Association dental van annually, participates in Florida’s Mission of Mercy, and provides a semi-annual dental give back program for those in need at his office.

Phillip E. Abbott, DDS
Dr. Abbott is a recently retired dentist from Central Florida with over 40 years experience in all facets of dentistry including oral surgery, surgical implant placement and microscope assisted root canal therapy. He still possesses a passion for all phases of dentistry and has an equal passion to render compassionate and caring evidence-based treatment to each patient based upon their unique needs and desires.
He achieved his dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1982 finishing in the top 10% of his graduating class. He went on to complete an optional general practice residency at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1983. He maintained his solo practice in Bartow Florida from 1986 until the end of 2020. He also serves pro bono as the treating endodontist at the Blue Ridge Free Dental Clinic in Cashiers, North Carolina where he resides with his wife Lynette. He vacations the winter months in Florida.
Dr. Abbott and his wife Lynette have 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren. His interests include serving and teaching at his local church along with serving as the lead dentist on several dental mission trips to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. He also enjoys running, water skiing and wake surfing, snow skiing, tennis and yes, even pickle ball :)
